Beyond Borders Ministry exist to motivate and organize Christ-centered outreach in our community and faithfully support missionaries who go beyond the borders to reach those we cannot physically reach.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. - Matthew 28:19-20
Beyond Borders Outreach communicates and demonstrates the outreach needs in our community. By partnering with local agencies, businesses and other churches, our goal is to not only to meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of our community, but to also meet the spiritual needs. Our passion is to be Christ by our deeds and our love for others.
Beyond Borders Missions oversees and promotes the U.S. and World Missionaries/Ministries of our church under the direction of the Pastor and church board. Kirksville First Assembly is a very mission minded church. We faithfully support over 20 missionaries and ministries. Check out our Missions page.
Beyond Borders partners with LifeLine Pregnancy each year. Right now our main goal has been the Baby Bottle Blessing. There are plans to further connect with LifeLine more throughout the year. LifeLine is a Christian-based organization with a "mission is to serve men, women, students, and babies with love and compassion. We provide no-cost services to new moms and dads as they progress through pregnancy and into parenthood. Our goal is to be a place where everyone can feel empowered, as well as find hope and healing." To learn more about LifeLine Pregnancy's mission, click the button below.
Beyond Borders partners with Community Action Partnership Northeast (CAPNEMO) throughout the year. CAPNEMO uses our parking lot and Fellowship Hall for their Mobile Outreach for families in the community. We also help with their Back-2-School Drive. Plans are in the works for future ways our church can partner with CAPNEMO to help the families in our community. CAPNEMO is an excellent resource for families in the Kirksville area. Their mission and promise: "The Community Action Partnership of Northeast Missouri's mission is to assist and empower individuals, families, and communities to achieve their greatest potential. Community Action changes people's lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other." Our church collects food and donates to the Pantry for Adair County. The Pantry is a great resource for the Kirksville community by helping to feed those who struggle with hunger. You can find Pantry for Adair County on Facebook. Click the button below.
Beyond Borders partners with Nemo Connect when they have their "Save the Date!" Event each October. This event is an opportunity for every agency, business, and churches to come together and provide support and resources for the low income families in the Kirksville area. This event has been a great way for our church to minister to families by handing out hygiene items, our church information, and Bibles. We've also been able to pray and help connect them to other resources within the community and surrounding areas. The goal of Nemo Connect is to "be the connecting point to assist individuals/families in obtaining permanent housing. We will connect people in need to organizations in town based upon the services they require.
Throughout the year, our volunteer Board will assist individuals/families in need on a case-by-case basis. We will assist an individual or family once every 12 months with up to 2 nights at a local hotel/motel if they meet certain criteria. We will also assist individuals on a referral basis to obtain their driver's license or birth certificate, and will discuss other needs on a case-by-case basis."
